As each guest arrived, they placed a scoop of dirt into the pot holding a plant. Each scoop represented support for the couple to grow their love. And during their Minnesota park wedding ceremony, Amber and Spencer watered the plant to grow their love. How cool is that? It was a great representation of the way they have surrounded themselves with strong and enduring relationships.
One of my favorite things about this wedding was my own relationship with the bride! Amber and I were best friends in Kindergarten! And have kept in touch over the years, so it was extra special to have the opportunity to shoot her wedding (and I also got to shoot her engagement session!).
Close friends seemed to be a theme at their wedding. Everyone in their bridal party were friends who have known each other for a really long time. Amber also had a friend from San Francisco come to do her wedding arch for her, and it turned out beautifully. Spencer and Amber are very loyal people, both to their friendships, and to each other. It was such a great experience to watch a community surround them and celebrate their marriage with them.
The best part of the wedding was absolutely the reception. The dance floor was PACKED the whole time, and everyone was having a blast. There was also a s’mores station set up on the patio for the kids who were thrilled! (Until they ran out of chocolate! haha)
The day was filled with ways to include those in their lives who were special to them, to celebrate this new chapter in their lives together. It was a unique privilege to not only be the photographer, but to be counted among those close to them at their Minnesota park wedding. Amber and Spencer, thank you for including me in such an incredible day!
