This Little River Farms wedding had magic, not just because of the beauty of the venue, but because of the guests as well.

Tucked in the heart of Milton, Georgia, Little River Farms was the perfect blend of charm and intimacy. It gave us a place that felt warm, inviting, and just like us—not too grand, not too simple.
The couple toured many venues. From luxurious estates to laid-back barns. When we found Little River Farms, Tim said, “This is beautiful.” That sealed it.
And this was during winter, with no leaves on the trees. If it could feel right then, they knew it was the one.
River Farms Wedding Planning with Intention
Tim and Hao built their wedding around three principles. First, they wanted the best photography and videography possible. That’s what remains after the day ends.
Second, they wanted to be surrounded only by the people they love. People who love them in return. No obligations. Just joy.
Third, they wanted no regrets. They invested in the experience for themselves and their guests. From cake tastings to linens, they didn’t cut corners.
The Colorful and Joyful Decor at this Little River Farms Wedding
The theme was playful and pastel. They loved color—bright, happy, and full of life, just like Tim makes Hao feel.

Each bridesmaid wore a color that matched a flower: pastel yellow, baby pink, sky blue, and sage green. The wedding bouquet was a blend of their colors.

The groomsmen wore tuxes from The Black Tux, styled to match Tim. His boutonniere was made using florals from each groomsman’s bloom. He also wore a watch handcrafted by one of them—such a meaningful touch.

Hao found her wedding dress before the venue. She was the very first one Hao tried. She didn’t say yes immediately. Instead, I explored every other option—big designers, trendy boutiques, and local favorites.
Every few months, Hao came back to her. Tried her on. Loved her more. After nine months, she knew. She was the one. That’s how Hao knew it was real—just like Tim. They dated for almost nine years before he proposed. It was a surprise, and it felt just right.

The Ceremony Moments at Little River Farms
The ceremony space at the gazebo was filled with lush florals in every color. The reception featured pastel runners, mixed bud vases, and gold accents. Both Hao and Tim wanted a celebration that felt whimsical, airy, and deeply joyful.

One of my favorite parts of Hao and Tim’s wedding was the ceremony. It was joyful, emotional, and so them. Hao walked down the aisle with her mom, which was especially meaningful—her mom also walked both of Hao’s sisters down the aisle in their weddings. That moment had weight and beauty.

She chose “At Last” by Etta James as her processional song and timed it perfectly to walk in as the iconic lyric played. Cue all the tears.
They exchanged both traditional and handwritten vows. Knowing they don’t often say overly romantic things, it was incredibly special to hear them speak from the heart.

Then, as they exited, they danced their way out to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” a song they always sing together in the car. It was so personal, so fun, and so true to their relationship.

Every Detail Had Meaning
What I loved most about this day was how deeply personal it was. Every detail had Hao and Tim’s fingerprints all over it. They folded 120 origami cranes by hand to use as escort cards. The favors were custom-engraved chopsticks, each box hand-wrapped by Hao herself.

The place cards were vinyl-lettered napkin ribbons that she also designed. And the table numbers? Inspired by the floral box stands she built for the ceremony. They even skipped the traditional guestbook for a doodle station, knowing their guests—especially the kids—would love something creative.
And the sweetest part? Guests didn’t leave empty-handed. Rufio’s biscuit bar sent their furry friends home with treats, too.
There wasn’t a corner of this wedding that wasn’t filled with care, creativity, and love.
The Reception Treats
Now, let’s talk about the cake—because wow. Nicole from Gingerspice Bakery created a literal showstopper.

Each tier had a different flavor: matcha with yuzu, lemon berry, and pistachio with cardamom cream cheese. Every single bite was as good as it sounds. Hao and Tim put so much thought into the flavors, and it really paid off.
The design was dreamy and whimsical. It had delicate ruffles, gold leaf detailing, and cascading pastel wafer-paper flowers. Tiny butterflies danced across the cake like something out of a spring garden. It was a masterpiece.
But it didn’t stop there. They also had a dessert bar hosted by their dog, Rufio. Yes, you read that right. It was called “Treat Yo’ Self,” and it had everything—fruit tartlets, crème brûlée, matcha tea cake, earl grey shortcake, and more. Guests were still raving about it weeks later.

Hao even styled the dessert table herself with marble and gold-accented trays. Every element was thought through—and it was stunning.

Final Thoughts on a Little River Farms Wedding
Little River Farms was the perfect setting for Hao and Tim. It’s romantic, cozy, and tucked into nature in the prettiest way.
Even when they toured it in the winter—when everything was bare—it still felt magical. And watching it come to life in full bloom on their wedding day? Absolutely unforgettable.
As their photographer, I felt like I got to witness not just a beautiful celebration, but a story that spanned nearly a decade of love.
Everything—from the vows to the cake to the joyful energy in every room—felt like a reflection of who they are together.
It was vibrant, heartfelt, and full of laughter. And honestly, it’s a wedding I’ll always remember.
