Brenda and Hangi’s Barnsley Resort wedding was the perfect blend of elegance, romance, and heartfelt celebration.
Nestled in the foothills of Georgia, Barnsley Resort offers one of the most unique wedding backdrops: the historic Manor Ruins. With brick walls and sweeping views of the gardens, the setting feels both timeless and dreamy. It was love at first sight for this couple, especially once they realized it was also close to family in Atlanta.
Their wedding vision was all about understated beauty and warm moments. Think elegant without being overdone. Romantic, yet full of fun.
The Historic Manor Ruins at Barnsley Resort
The Manor Ruins at Barnsley Resort are unlike anything else in the South. Built in the 1800s and lovingly preserved, the old bricks and climbing vines bring a European feel. The surrounding gardens, lush and perfectly trimmed, add to the fairytale atmosphere. It’s the kind of venue that needs very little to make it shine.
That’s exactly what Brenda and Hangi embraced.
They added soft draping to the arched doorways and a few cozy lounge spots nearby. Greenery dressed up the stone fireplaces. The color palette—blush pink, white, and soft green—was pulled from the natural surroundings. The entire space felt romantic, serene, and deeply personal.

The Wedding Style
Brenda’s bridesmaids wore different styles of dresses from Azazie in shades of dusty rose, rosette, and blush pink. She wanted her girls to feel confident and beautiful—and gave them full freedom to choose their silhouettes. The result? A cohesive look with personal flair.

The groomsmen rented tuxes from The Black Tux and styled them their own way. Hangi’s tux was by Brioni, a brand he loved for its refined luxury and classic tailoring.

Together, the wedding party looked elevated but effortless, and so did their first look!

One of the most heartfelt moments was the couple’s private vow exchange. Just the two of them. Before the ceremony, they shared handwritten vows in an intimate first look—a quiet pause before the celebration began.

Later, during the ceremony at the ruins, they recited traditional vows in front of family and friends. This balance between personal and timeless made the day feel even more special.

The ceremony altar was framed by lush white florals climbing up one of the original archways. With the rustic stone as the backdrop, the whole space felt like a scene from a romantic film.

A Reception Filled with Southern Comfort and Flavor
Brenda and Hangi treated guests to a full eating experience. Their cocktail hour featured a bourbon tasting curated by a Certified Bourbon Steward. Guests sampled rare and global bourbons while learning how they’re made, complete with a smoking cabinet display.
The reception took place under the covered pavilion. Round tables were set with white linens, gold-rimmed chargers, blush and ivory floral centerpieces, and tall taper candles in glass sleeves.

A two-tier strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream frosting sat on a floral-draped table. For dessert, they went all out with a Southern dessert table: bourbon pecan pie, lemon meringue, spiced apple pie, cherry cobbler, and even Coca-Cola cake.

This wasn’t just dessert—it was nostalgia and sweetness in every bite!
As the night came to a close, guests lined the historic brick path outside the ruins with sparklers in hand. Brenda and Hangi ran through the glowing tunnel of light, beaming with joy. It was the perfect end to a wedding full of heartfelt moments.
