When I think back to Ella and Andrew’s Conservatory Wedding at Blackberry Ridge, one word comes to mind—timeless. Their wedding day was full of elegance, personal touches, and so much joy. Photographing it was such an honor, and I’m so excited to share their story.
Finding the Dream Dress
Ella found her dress at Bellissima Boutique in Winston-Salem, and it was such a special day. She brought her mom, sister, grandmother, and more—it was a true girls’ day. Believe it or not, the very first gown she tried on became the one. Its full, classic silhouette paired beautifully with soft ruching for a modern touch. She looked absolutely breathtaking walking down the aisle in it.

Timeless Style for the Wedding Party
The bridesmaids wore chic black gowns with dramatic bows on the back, and they looked incredible. Ella wanted them to feel confident and beautiful, and they truly did. The groomsmen wore classic tuxedos with notched lapels, keeping everything sharp and cohesive. Andrew stood out in a peak-lapel tuxedo for the ceremony, then changed into a white dinner jacket for the reception. It was the perfect mix of timeless and fun.

Discovering Blackberry Ridge
Ella told me she first saw The Conservatory on Instagram and immediately sent it to her family. She called it “Italy in Georgia,” and honestly, I couldn’t agree more. What she didn’t know was that Andrew had already started working behind the scenes. With her family’s help, he secured the venue early, and the surprise was unforgettable. Their Conservatory Wedding at Blackberry Ridge truly became Ella’s dream come true.

A Ceremony with Heart
Their ceremony was one of the most meaningful I’ve ever photographed. Andrew’s dad officiated, making the moment so personal. Together, Ella and Andrew also shared communion, centering their marriage in faith. The music made everything even more emotional—Andrew walked to “God Is Love” by Chris Renzema. Ella walked to “Seasons” by Hillsong, a song that spoke to God’s perfect timing.

Reception Highlights for this Conservatory Wedding at Blackberry Ridge
The Conservatory Wedding at Blackberry Ridge transitioned beautifully into a night of celebration. They greeted guests with three specialty cocktails. “The Old Dawg” was a nod to Andrew’s alma mater, Georgia. “The Athens Mule” tied back to where their story began. And “The Marker 7 Marg” reminded them of a favorite restaurant from their dating years. Each drink was a fun little peek into their love story.

Elegant Decor and Dinner Stations at this Conservatory Wedding at Blackberry Ridge
The reception was decorated in a black-and-white palette with gold accents—it was elegant, elevated, and classy. Guests enjoyed a mix of dinner stations that kept the evening interactive and lively. There was an Italian station with fresh pasta, a steakhouse-inspired spread, and Southern comfort favorites. Later, Ella and Andrew surprised everyone with fried chicken tacos and parmesan fries for a late-night snack. Everyone loved it!
A Cake so beautiful it was hard to eat
Their cake was one of my favorites of the year. Summerhouse Bakery created a four-tier masterpiece with delicate fondant ruffles. The hand-painted gold edges tied perfectly into the rest of the design. Inside, flavors included snickerdoodle and white almond with cream cheese buttercream. To make sure everyone was happy, extra strawberry and chocolate kitchen cakes were served.
