In Oklahoma, you never really know what the weather is going to give you – sometimes it rains, sometimes there’s a cool breeze, and sometimes it’s just plain HOT. Well, on Derek and LaTara’s wedding day, it was HOT – like 103 degrees kind of hot! That didn’t matter though, their day was still just as beautiful as ever! These two tied the knot surrounded by some of their closest friends and relatives during their Rustic Country Wedding and it was beautiful! They got married at The Home Place Country Estate in Meno, Oklahoma and, for those who have never been there before, it’s a rustic bride’s dream come true! Their antique barn overlooking the quarter makes for a great ceremony location and inside, they have it decorated with hanging string lights making it a great option for an indoor reception. Outside they have an open dance floor— which, I don’t know about you, but helllooooo summer weddings! It is truly a hidden gem for a country bride!
There were a lot of beautiful moments throughout, but my absolute favorite part of the day was when LaTara and her Dad had their first dance. It was so sweet, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the audience… such a beautiful moment shared between father and daughter. The rest of Derek and LaTara’s family were really sweet, as well! As I was going through the photos from their day, when I got to the family portraits I couldn’t help but notice how happy everyone was. I know you’re probably thinking duh, it’s a wedding… But this time it was so much MORE than that! Their families were GLOWING and you could just tell they adored the two of them together and were just so, so proud. Something I’ll never forget.
Derek and LaTara, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day and trusting me with some of your most cherished moments. Brody and the rest of your relatives may not have been there is the physical, but anyone who was there that day could tell you they were ALL there with you. Your wedding is one I will truly never forget. I am so happy for you and I wish you both all the happiness in the world as you begin your journey together as one. CHEERS to the NEW Mr. and Mrs. Derek Brown!!
