The lights dimmed. He held her in his arms like he had done so many times before that. But this time it was different. He looked down and couldn’t help but smile. Everything he had ever wanted was in his arms at that moment. His past, present, and future: this was his wife. And this was the beginning of the rest of their lives together.
Hector and Emi got married last Saturday at Saint James Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. Their ceremony was intimate and beautiful with all of their closest family and friends there to witness the union. It was really special. After, the wedding party and guests hopped in their cars and traveled to The Springs in Norman. The venue was stunning and had been beautifully decorated to match every vision of Emi’s. And, believe me when I say this, it was done to perfection. The vibe was a little rustic, a little chic, and a lot elegant — it was BEAUTIFUL! When everyone arrived, it was time to party! But first, and rightfully so, TACOS! Los Desvelados served the juiciest, most delicious tacos! I have zero complaints! I don’t think anyone did — they. were. SO. GOOD! When the dance floor opened, that was it. The party had officially started and the whole crowd was out there tearing it up! La Cumbia, Salsa, you name it, the DJ was playing it and everyone was out there having a blast! And as if it couldn’t have gotten any better from there, then came my favorite Mexican Wedding tradition: la víbora de la mar! For those who’ve never heard of it, this dance is where all the single men and women link arms and run — yes, women in their heels and dresses — throughout the venue and under the bride’s veil that she and her husband are holding in the air. It’s just something you have to experience, really. It’s such a neat tradition! The rest of the night was spent in true Latino fashion: partying, dancing, laughing, and having a great time until the lights came on. It was just the BEST night!
Hector and Emi, your guy’s day will forever go down as one of my favorites! From the tacos, to the glitter, to the music and the dancing… it really was just the BEST night! Thank you for allowing my team and I the honor of being there and capturing it. It was an absolute JOY and a day we’ll never forget. We love you guys and are so incredibly happy for the two of you! Without further ado, CHEERS y SALUD to the newlyweds, Mr. & Mrs. Perez! May your future together be as bright as your smiles were on this day!
