Alabama Wedding at Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club

Before this Alabama wedding began – it started with a single, quiet moment. AnnaLee walked up behind John David for their first look. You could feel the excitement in the air. Then he turned around, and his emotion said everything words couldn’t. From there, the day only grew more special. AnnaLee and John David celebrated their forever at Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club in Killen, Alabama. With AnnaLee’s design background, personal touches showed up in every detail.

Getting Ready

The morning started with two very different scenes. AnnaLee got ready surrounded by her closest girls, laughter filling the room. Meanwhile, John David and his groomsmen suited up right on the yacht. It set a relaxed, celebratory tone for the whole day. AnnaLee even designed John David’s tux herself, adding a piece of her signature style to his look.

The Details for this Alabama Wedding

As the owner of her own design boutique, AnnaLee brought her eye for detail to every corner of this Alabama wedding. Soft peonies, creamy whites, and touches of greenery set a romantic tone. The palette of baby blue, soft lilac pink, and misty olive tied it all together. Even the cake told a story, blending a classic white almond flavor with playful golf ball details for John David.

First Look with Dad

Before the ceremony, AnnaLee shared a quiet moment with her father. It was tender, emotional, and completely unscripted. Seeing her dad’s reaction gave us some of the most heartfelt images of the day. Moments like these are exactly why first looks matter so much.

First Look with Husband

Next, AnnaLee and John David shared their first look together. The nerves, the excitement, and the pure joy were written all over their faces. This private moment gave them time to soak it all in before the celebration began. These two also took a few moments to exchange their own private vows. It’s a favorite tradition for so many couples having Alabama weddings, and this one was no exception. Here, we took time to really capture their love, by photographing these two together on the yacht and in the courtyard. These are some of my favorite images to date!

Wedding Party Look

AnnaLee designed every bridesmaid dress herself, choosing a soft lilac pink after months of searching for the perfect shade. Each dress featured a removable cape, worn during the ceremony for a dramatic effect. Later, the capes came off to reveal a sleek, strapless silhouette for the reception. The result felt elevated and cohesive, and looked beautiful in their photos.

Surrounded by family and friends, they exchanged promises that will last a lifetime. Alabama Wedding Reception

The reception was full of energy from start to finish. Guests danced the night away to all of AnnaLee and John David’s favorite songs. Furniture from AnnaLee’s family furniture store filled the tent, adding a personal touch throughout. As the late evening approached, guests enjoyed chocolate-covered strawberries and espresso martinis for a sweet late-night treat. And to end the night? A fun grand exit that will be talked about for years to come!

Fun Facts about this Alabama Wedding

A few extra details made this Alabama wedding even more memorable. AnnaLee designed matching pickleball outfits for herself, John David, and their entire wedding party. The couple kicked off the weekend with a friendly pickleball match. Then, they surprised everyone with a full tournament, held after the bridesmaids’ luncheon and the guys’ golf outing. It was the perfect way to bring everyone together before the big day.

AnnaLee and John David’s Alabama wedding was full of style, and personal touches. From the first look to the last dance, their love story shined through in so many personal ways. Congratulations to this beautiful couple on the start of forever, and thank you for having me as your wedding photographer!
